ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Debi Sutton, a top executive at the International Sleep Products Assn., has resigned to take another job in the Washington area.
Sutton, a nine-year ISPA employee who was most recently vice president of marketing and member services, will join the Entomological Society of America, overseeing membership, marketing and meeting programs. The job "provides for my love of membership and marketing mixed with my fascination for insects," she said.
Don Wright, ISPA chairman, praised Sutton as "an outstanding manager and advocate for our association. She worked tirelessly on behalf of the membership, was a consummate professional, and a trusted member of the executive team."
Wright said ISPA "will be reviewing her job description with the intention of replacing her position."
Sutton said the job opportunity was one "that I couldn't pass up." She added: "I'm an agronomist by training, I love to garden, and I'm fascinated with what tiny creatures Mother Nature has given us."
She begins her new job in early April.
