Oyimay Sofa, Trendwood debuting at High Point Market

HIGH POINT — Upholstery producer Oyimay Sofa and youth bedroom specialist Trendwood Furniture will be new exhibitors in the Furniture Plaza showroom building at the High Point Market, which runs April 17-22.Oyimay Sofa will make its East Coast debut in 13,000 square feet in space 600, and Trendwood will welcome buyers in 3,000 square feet in space 400.
"Both Oyimay Sofa and Trendwood will be great additions to the sources already available in our building," said Brian Bunch, vice president and assistant general manager for Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. High Point, owner of Furniture Plaza.
Oyimay Sofa is one of the brands of Haining, China-based manufacturer Ounoya Sofa, which also operates under the Happy Leather Co. name. In High Point, the company will introduce 25 stationary and motion upholstery groups covered in fabric, leather and bonded leather, with a primary focus on power motion groups. Styles range from traditional to casual and contemporary.
"We chose to show in High Point because it is the furniture market for the world and it is a great opportunity to show our design and manufacturing expertise," said Pete Sakaria, president of Ounoya/Oyimay Sofa Group.
Arizona-based Trendwood's youth bedroom line includes a number of solid-pine groups in various finish options. In April, it will show its new Fort Collection, which features a clubhouse fort bed, treehouse fort and mate's bed fort, and also the new Alder Creek collection in solid alder with three finish options.
"Over the past 25 years, our business has grown with distribution to almost all 50 states and international locations," said Scott Coor, vice president of marketing for Trendwood. "In an effort to better serve our East Coast and Top 100 retailers, we have selected a great location in Furniture Plaza in High Point."
