HIGH POINT — Whitewood Inds., whose divisions include casual dining producer John Thomas Furniture, is doubling the size of its High Point showroom for the April market. The company, which has occupied the first floor of a showroom building at 215 S. Main St. for 10 years, is opening an additional showroom on the third floor. Combined, the spaces have about 20,000 square feet.
Jorge Mata, Whitewood's CEO, said the first-floor space will be occupied by John Thomas Furniture, while the third floor will be devoted to the company's two other divisions, unfinished furniture producer Whitewood Ready-To-Finish and specialty retail supplier International Concepts.
Previously, all three divisions had been using the first-floor showroom.
"John Thomas Furniture has become well known in the casual dining segment of the industry, but Whitewood Inds. is a much broader home furnishings company," Mata said. "This expansion will allow us the needed space to fully exhibit our ready-to-finish division and specialty retailer supplier division."
The market runs April 17-22.
