Dedert's Furniture store owner shot to death in Dothan, Ala., store

Murder likely tied to robbery

Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 18, 2010

DOTHAN, Ala. — Grace Bridges, owner of Dedert's Furniture & Antiques, was shot to death in her store Wednesday, authorities told the Dothan Eagle newspaper.

A district attorney said he believed Bridges was slain during the commission of a robbery. An $11,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in the crime.

Dothan police said the murder likely happened between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday. It was the first murder in the city this year.
