HIGH POINT — The High Point Media Center will begin accepting press kit shipments on Monday, March 31, for the High Point Market, which runs April 7-13.
The deadline for on-time delivery of press kits for distribution to the media is 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5. The Media Center opens to the press at noon Sunday, April 6.
The American Home Furnishings Alliance and the High Point Market Authority operate the center. Distribution of press kits to journalists attending the market is offered free to all market exhibitors.
A quantity of 50 to 75 kits is recommended for smaller companies. Larger companies should send 100 to 125. Nearly 150 different media outlets will be represented at the market, including trade publications, newspapers, consumer magazines, radio and television stations, cable television programs and Internet media. The Media Center issues more than 400 press passes to editorial personnel attending each High Point Market.
Press kits should be shipped to:
The Media Center
@ the High Point Theatre
220 E. Commerce Ave.
High Point, N.C. 27260
All press kits arriving by 5 p.m. Saturday, April 5, will be displayed in alphabetical order by company name. It’s recommended that the company name and showroom location be plainly visible on the front of the press kit folder. Press kits received after 5 p.m. April 5, will be placed on “Late Arrivals” shelves in the order they are received.
Late kits may be delivered to the Media Center between noon and 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, or from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 7 or 8.
Those planning to deliver press kits to the Media Center in person should do so between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday or Saturday, April 4 or 5.
Companies are asked to enclose a packing slip with their press kit shipment listing the number of press kits sent, a contact person, and instructions for returning any leftover kits after the market. A FedEx account number must be supplied for leftover kits to be returned. Leftover kits also may be picked up between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. Leftover kits with no shipping instructions will be discarded after 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12.
Questions about Media Center operations or press kits can be directed to Pat Bowling, AHFA vice president, at (336) 884-5000, extension 106, before April 4, or at the Media Center at (336) 883-6228, April 4-11.
