BlueLight.com shifts Internet access provider

SAN FRANCISCO -BlueLight.com announced the severing of its relationship with one local Internet dial-up access service and the forming of another.
Kmart's Internet arm has entered into an agreement with PSINet and WorldNet for the two services to provide Internet access to a portion of the infrastructure support for BlueLight.com.
The move came after BlueLight's recent acquisition of selected assets of Spinway Inc., a former infrastructure partner that shut its virtual doors earlier this month. Genuity had provided local dial-up access for the Sunnyvale, CA-based Spinway, but BlueLight terminated the relationship for undisclosed reasons.
"We are dedicated to providing our subscribers with online access to enjoy the Internet and shopping at BlueLight.com," said Mark Goldstein, ceo of BlueLight. "While the Genuity Grinch was about to steal Christmas from millions of online holiday shoppers, we acted quickly with PSINet and WorldNet to maintain our nationwide Internet service."
BlueLight.com currently supplies between five and six million subscribers with Internet service.
