KOHLER, Wis. —
Kohler Co. Interiors Groups, the parent of high-end manufacturer Baker Furniture, has promoted Kevin Ward to vice president of furniture operations, a new position.
Ward, who has been president of Baker Knapp & Tubbs since 2006, will now oversee operations at Baker and at sister companies McGuire and Mark David. McGuire specializes in contemporary indoor and outdoor furniture and Mark David specializes in hospitality furniture.
The company said it is seeking a replacement for Ward at Baker. Rachel Kohler, group president of Kohler Co. Interiors Group, will serve as interim president until a replacement is found.
In his new role, Ward reports to Kohler. He will continue to be based in the Baker executive offices in Hickory, N.C.
“Our brands enjoy leading positions in their respective categories,” Rachel Kohler said in a statement. “While compelling product design and superior distribution play a large part in our historical success, winning in the future will be defined by brands that also have superior supply chain and manufacturing competencies. Widely regarded as an industry expert in furniture operations, Kevin is uniquely suited to charting our course in this newly created position.”
Ward joined Baker as vice president of operations in 2003 after earlier stints at Hickory Chair and Henredon.
