Ginsey Home Solutions Acts and Looks New

The former Ginsey Industries is coming to market with a new name, a new series of product lines, and a new strategic mission.
Having sold a little over a year ago to Hunt Private Equity Group, an affiliate of the Dallas-based investment empire of oil baron Ray L. Hunt, the company is now Ginsey Home Solutions. Hunt plans to build Ginsey into a diversified consumer products company, according to home textiles veteran Herb Briggs, who joined the company in May as a managing partner in Hunt and ceo of Ginsey.
"Ginsey is a company with 50 years in business. It's still a manufacturing company with a factory in New Jersey. We want to present this company as very consumer-driven," Briggs told HTT. "We have a lot of ideas coming down the pike."
"You never really know the opportunities that are there until someone shows you where you can go," said Jeff Cohen, vp of sales. "It's instilled a new energy amongst everyone in the company."
For the moment, Ginsey Home Solutions is focused on being the leading provider of six product categories: adult bathroom seats, children's bathroom seats, potty training accessories, bath safety (e.g. tub mats), bath hygiene and bath mats.
Eco-friendly products run across several categories in the introductions on display in Ginsey's redesigned showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue this week. There are bath mat and accessories collections in bamboo and teak. Tub mats are made of sustainable rubber, as opposed to oil-based vinyls. Another product line is Growing Up Green, in the potty training segment: a seat, step-stool and booster seat in plantation-grown, reforested bamboo.
In vinyl bath mats, Ginsey Home Solutions is introducing a fashion line featuring organically inspired textures created by a local designer. The point, said Briggs, is to make an everyday product "talk to the customer's taste level."
