HOUSTON — Rooms To Go will open the first of four stores it has planned for this metro area on Saturday.
The 35,000-square-foot showroom is at the Gulf Freeway and Bay Area Boulevard, adjacent to Baybrook Mall. Over the next few months, the Top 100 company also will open stores in The Woodlands, Stafford and Willowbrook areas of greater Houston.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be opening Rooms To Go in Houston,” said CEO Jeff Seaman. “We’re confident that we’ll provide Houston consumers with a new, different, exciting and affordable way to shop for furniture.”
RTG now has more than 130 stores including other Texas showrooms in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
The Baybrook store will employ about 40 people. More than 90% of its product is in stock. With its opening, the midpriced competition grow even more heated with RTG, Gallery Furniture, Finger Furniture and Finger’s Ashley Furniture HomeStores among those fighting for a piece of the pie.
At the opening event, Seaman will discuss the RTG’s partnership plans with local charities DePelchin Children’s Center and the Houston Chronicle’s Goodfellows program.
