LOMBARD, Ill. — Howard Fager has joined The RoomPlace at Harlem Furniture here as case goods and bedding buyer, taking on some of the responsibilities handled by Vesna Telalovic, vice president of merchandising.
Fager, a 30-year industry veteran, was case goods buyer for Wheeling, Ill.-based Wickes Furniture for the past 10 years of his 23-year stint with the chain. Earlier, Fager worked in sales and management at retailer Homer Bros. in Chicago.
At the 22-store RoomPlace, Fager reports to Telalovic, who said, “I’ve been waiting for the right person for quite some time and I found him.” She said that more important than Fager’s years of experience is his “personality fit” and passion for what he does.
“I’m excited to be with a growing company that’s very focused on its business in Chicago and surrounding areas,” Fager said.
