Koenig to speak at logistics conference

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 29, 2010

Keith Koenig, president of Top 100 retailer City Furniture, will be the keynote speaker here at next month's 50th annual conference of the International Furniture Transportation and Logistics Council.

Koenig, whose full-line furniture store chain is based in Fort Lauderdale, will address more than 100 logistics and transportation specialists on April 14, the opening day of the event, which will be at the Lago Mar Resort.

Other opening day speakers include Hank Mullen, CEO of the Visibility Group; Richard DiNucci, director of the secure freight initiative at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service; and Robert Masters, senior vice president of Manna Freight Systems.

In addition, Richard Purnell, president of Purnell Furniture Services, will lead a panel discussion on home delivery.

The opening day also features a tribute to the late Ray Bohman, the longtime executive director of the council who died Jan. 2.

On April 15, concurrent panel discussions will be held on importing and home delivery. Dan Bolger, owner of the Bolger Group, will make a presentation on warehousing.

The final day, April 16, is headlined by a second presentation by Mullen and an open forum to discuss any topic related to transportation and logistics.
