Wilkinson VP at Austin Gray

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 30, 2008

Veteran sales representative Bob Wilkinson has been named vice president of sales and marketing for case goods importer Austin Gray, a new position at the company.

Wilkinson had been a rep for Austin Gray for 18 months and earlier was a multi-line rep for other companies during his 33 years in the industry.

In addition, Austin Gray executives Don Thomasson and Tiffany Thomasson have moved into new positions. Don is vice president of key accounts and Tiffany is vice president of merchandising. She will be working with designers Fred Delafield, Harold Zimmerman, Joe Gilbert and Art Perper.

Wilkinson said the company also expects to announce a new president by next week's High Point Market.

He added that Austin Gray, which has been a container-only operation, expects to expand its clientele this market after opening nine distribution centers around the country in the past two months, serving small to mid-size retailers.

Austin Gray imports traditional and transitional bedroom, dining room and occasional from Vietnam and Malaysia. Wilkinson said the company's strategy is to offer high-quality construction features at medium price points.

At market, the company will show at 100 S. Main St. It will host a party at 5 p.m. Monday, April 7, and will have a drawing during market to give away a bedroom suite to a retailer.
