Dulles, Va. — Dan Kennedy, former president of St. Louis retailer Kloss Furniture, has been named senior director of Belfort Furniture, a new position at the Washington-area retailer.
Kennedy led day-to-day operations at 13 stores and a distribution center for Kloss, which in early 2007 sold its Lane, Broyhill and Thomasville stores to manufacturer Furniture Brands International. Before joining Kloss, he was president of management and sales training organization Selling Retail International.
At Belfort, Kennedy will oversee advertising, marketing, merchandising and sales. He reports to CEO Michael Huber.
"Dan brings a wealth of experience to Belfort, particularly in sales organization and training, and in merchandising," said Huber. "His 23 years in the industry will bring a fresh outlook and a new approach to our business, enhancing our daily operations and leveraging our strengths to guide our future growth."
