Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, January 26, 2009
Great Lakes regional furniture and home furnishings chain Art Van has appointed Donald Dilliplane accessories buyer, reporting to Bob Price, vp of merchandising.
Dilliplane began his retail career in 1988 working in sales for Boyles Furniture in North Carolina, becoming accessory buyer in 1993; in 2006, brand development responsibilities were added to his role.
Dilliplane, who is relocating with his family to the Detroit area, is responsible for purchasing all furniture accessories including area rugs, lighting, wall décor and containers in his new stint.
Art Van said that as it continues to promote and display merchandise in lifestyle settings, Dilliplane's "extensive buying experience and keen fashion sense will help create the personality and attitude of each group."
