Specialty Sleep Assn.

FRIANT, Calif. — Sleep Studio CEO Michael Rothbard has joined the board of the Specialty Sleep Assn.'s Green Initiative.

“Michael brings a fresh perspective on consumer needs coupled with a wealth of family business knowledge. We are pleased he has accepted our invitation to join the Green Initiative governing board,” said SSA President Dale Read. “We are excited to have Michael on board helping achieve our goals for transparency in marketing and consumer education.”

The SSA's Green Initiative was created to identify definitions and terminology, as well as existing standards and certifications that apply to the mattress industry. These include components and finished products, plus how mattress manufacturers and retailers label “green” products and define eco-friendly sleep.

WithIt

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Jason Phillips and Jerry Cohen have joined the WithIt board of governors advisory team.

Phillips is vice president and creative director of The Phillips Collection and founder and president of Jason Phillips Design. His work has won several awards, and he also sits on the boards of other industry associations.

Cohen, a partner in a law firm, handles financial, commercial and intellectual property matters and offers counsel on strategic alliances, licensing, marketing and distribution agreements, acquisitions and divestitures, among others. He also writes a blog for Furniture/Today.com.
