HIGH POINT —
Leather upholstery producer Simon Li has promoted Jackson Carpenter to the newly created post of president of its U.S. operations.
Carpenter has been with the company since 2008, when he was named vice president of merchandising.
“There are so many opportunities in the American market, and Jackson is the right guy for the job,” said Simon Lichtenberg, the company's founder and CEO. “Working with him has been a delight, and we are looking forward to a great future with him leading the way.”
Simon Li, which entered the U.S. market five years ago, markets high-styled leather sofas and chairs that are produced in China.
Lichtenberg said Mike Brown Sr. will remain as vice president of sales, and Michael Mou will remain as global sales director and head of the company's team in China. In addition, Heidi Petersen recently was hired to manage the U.S. office and showroom in High Point.
