Valdese Weavers promotes several executives

Valdese, N.C. — Fabric supplier Valdese Weavers said that because of its dramatic growth, it has promoted five of its executives to new positions.
"We recognize that since we made significant acquisitions last year and have had dynamic growth internally over the last few years, we are a different company with different management needs. We have promoted people to address these changes," said Mike Shelton, president and CEO.
Last year, Valdese acquired the Mastercraft contract fabrics, Circa 1801/Doblin and Home Fabrics divisions in the bankruptcy of Joan Fabrics. Earlier it started its VIP division that produces fabrics offshore.
Executives in new positions include:

L. Snyder Garrison, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer, who formerly was senior vice president, administration.

Carson O. Copeland, chief operating officer, responsible for all company brands at all of the facilities. He had been senior vice president of manufacturing.

Blake E. Millinor, president of the Valdese Weavers Contract division, who had been senior vice president, contract.

Zachary D. Taylor, senior vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the residential markets under the Valdese Weavers and Home Fabrics brands. He had been vice president, marketing.

Anita B. Huffman, previously controller, is now vice president and controller.
Joseph P. Feege will continue as executive vice president. With Taylor's promotion, he will shift his priorities to selling activities across all company brands.
