Stewart, Sills to share home decorating ideas

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 6, 2008

Home products icon Martha Stewart will take the stage at the High Point Theatre at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, to discuss home decorating and her design inspirations before a High Point Market audience.

Interior designer Stephen Sills also will speak at the invitation-only event. He and James Huniford are creators of the Dwellings home furnishings line, which can be seen at their Manhattan showroom or on Dwellings-Home.com.

The event, sponsored by the International Home Furnishings Center in cooperation with the High Point Market Authority, will open with a discussion between Stewart and Sills, followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.

"I am delighted to be addressing this audience and sharing my ideas about home decorating and design, which are reflected in our offerings at the spring market in High Point," said Stewart, founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

"Ever since the launch of Martha Stewart furniture with Bernhardt in 2002, the market has showcased our beautiful, practical, and affordable decorating products. Many of these products are inspired by my personal collections and treasured objects I have discovered over the years."

"We are thrilled to offer our guests, customers, registrants and tenants this unique opportunity to hear Martha's personal thoughts on home design and MSLO's expanding home decorating portfolio," said Tom Lindh, president and CEO of the IHFC.

In addition to her Bernhardt furniture, Stewart has a lighting line at Murray Feiss Inds. and rugs at Safavieh, both of which show in High Point and will have new product at the market, which opens April 7.
