Winston-Salem, N.C. — BB&T Commercial Finance has received the Import Factor of the Year award from financial company Factors Chain International.
The award recognizes the FCI member that provides the highest level of import factoring service and business volume among FCI's 227 member organizations in 2006.
BB&T was the only American company to receive one of FCI's top five annual awards.
"We are very proud to be recognized by our peers as a world-class service provider," said BB&T's Darren Linder, president and managing director of Factoring Services, a unit of BB&T Commercial Finance.
The FCI network is made up of factoring organizations in 63 countries, actively engaged in nearly two-thirds of the world's international factoring volume. BB&T became a full member of FCI in 2006.
