MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Wolf Furniture & Mattress said it will open a 45,000-square-foot showroom here this summer.
Wolf is renovating the interior and exterior of the former Gabriel Bros. department store in the Gateway Square shopping center in Hampden Township along the Carlisle Pike.
The Top 100 company is making a $1 million investment and expects to hire 25 people to staff the store, Wolf said in a release.
The company declined to disclose projected sales for the new location and overall sales figures for this past year. Furniture/Today estimates the retailer had furniture, bedding and accessories sales of about $77 million in 2009.
"The new store will feature all the top brands customers have come to know and trust from Wolf Furniture, including La-Z-Boy, Broyhill, Sealy, Paula Deen, Pennsylvania House, Smith Bros., Kincaid, Kingsdown, Restonic and more," said Gene Stoltz, Wolf vice president of merchandise. "We plan on adding several new looks with an expanded selection to service a broader customer base in the market."
Bellwood, Pa.-based Wolf operates 11 stores, including a clearance center in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
