ST-PIE, Quebec —
Dutailier Group has hired industry veteran Guy Patenaude as its vice president of sales for the North American market, while promoting two of its long-time managers as vice presidents.
David Fontaine is now vice president of marketing and customer service and Christian Parent is vice president of operations.
These three will join a senior management team that also includes Alain Bellefluer, vice president of research and development; Roch Bilodeau, vice president of finance; and Fernand Fontaine, president and owner of Dutailier, which produces wood glider rockers, accent leather upholstery and juvenile bedroom furniture.
Most recently, Patenaude was president of leather upholstery specialist Jaymar Furniture, which was acquired by Groupe Bermex. He spent 15 years at Jaymar. Patenaude began his industry career as a sales representative for bedding major Simmons Canada.
“Mr. Patenaude is a well-known and seasoned veteran of the furniture industry who was involved in the upholstery market in both Canada and United States over the years,” Dutailier said in a statement.
David Fontaine, son of the owner, was the company's marketing manager prior to his promotion, and Parent was operations manager. Both are 15-year veterans of the company.
“I am very happy with these promotions,” Fernand Fontaine said in a statement. “We have a good blend of experience and youth that will bring Dutailier to new heights. A lot of work has been accomplished in the last 24 months to consolidate our organization in an ever-competitive market.”
