HIGH POINT —
Top 10 bedding producers will be rolling out a number of new mattress lines here, including value-priced innerspring lines and higher-priced specialty sleep models.
Sealy, based in Archdale, is showing its new Embody by Sealy specialty sleep line, with memory foam and latex foam models offered at price points ranging from $1,999 to $3,299. That producer also is showing sharply priced Sealy-brand beds, retailing from $299 to $699, and Sealy Posturepedic 60th Anniversary beds retailing from $799 to $1,299.
Two other bedding majors, Simmons and Serta, return to the International Home Furnishings Center.
Simmons is showing its well received new flagship Beauty-rest line, offering a number of new features and benefits, while Serta, in a new IHFC showroom, H-1141, has adopted an “under construction” theme for its market showing. Since the company's new market showroom will literally be under construction during the market, Serta officials said, they are leveraging the construction theme with their showroom décor and their market giveaways.
On the product side, Serta is debuting additions to its successful Trump Home mattress collection called Trump Home Luxury, which extends the line into price points ranging from $1,699 to $2,999. Some of the new models will feature a layer of PillowSoft coils on top of the innerspring unit. And some of the beds in the collection will be made available to retailers to floor in dual-comfort configurations.
Serta also is showing its new Perfect Day by Serta collection, retailing from $1,599 to $2,999. The line features a FreeFlex 3-D innerspring system composed of hundreds of individually wrapped PillowSoft coils on top of a 924 FreeFlex unit. Sparkling crystals are featured in the cover treatments, and the line also offers Position Perfect handles designed to ease the process of rotating the mattress.
And Serta also is showing a number of mattresses featuring its new Smart Support technology, a honeycomb design that provides superior pressure relief and back support, officials said. And the producer is showing its new collection of kids' mattresses designed in collaboration with Nickelodeon.
International Bedding is showing its revamped Origins line, and is debuting its new The Dr. Breus bed, designed in partnership with noted sleep doctor Michael Breus. That bed incorporates “phase-change materials” designed to create a temperature-regulating micro-climate for optimal sleep, IB officials said.
The Norfolk, Va.-licensee for Top 10 producer Comfort Solutions returns to the IHFC this market, fresh on the heels of signing a long-term lease and expanding its showroom to position the company for future growth, officials said.
Another Top 10 producer, Therapedic, is unveiling a new encased coil line it calls Therawrap. The line retails from $699 to $1,299 and marks Therapedic's entry into the encased coil market. “Wrap yourself in luxury” is the tag line for that new collection.
