CARTHAGE, Mo. —
Karl Glassman, chief operating officer of Leggett & Platt, has been named to the board of directors of the National Assn. of Manufacturers.
He joins more than 200 industry leaders on the board of the NAM, whose mission is to be the voice for U.S. manufacturers.
David Hafner, Leggett & Platt president and CEO, said his company and the NAM “share a common goal of protecting and promoting the interests of our industry in Washington. Karl's leadership role on the NAM board will enable Leggett & Platt to have an even more active seat at the table as issues such as tax policy, international trade regulations, and manufacturing law are discussed with our elected officials.”
Glassman added, “The NAM speaks firmly and forcefully for U.S. manufacturers, and board members play a central role in formulating NAM's official policy positions on legislative, regulatory, and other public policy concerns. As a NAM board member, I look forward to adding Leggett's voice to the critically important public debate about the future of American manufacturing.”
