By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 20, 2008

Guest speakers and a tour of a Jordan's Furniture store will highlight the National Home Furnishings Assn.'s spring meeting here May 14.

Open to retailers, interior designers and architects in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the annual event provides opportunities for education, networking and recognition.

It will begin at 9:30 a.m. May 14 with a tour of the Jordan's Furniture store in Reading, Mass. Attendees will then reconvene at noon at Spinelli's Conference Center in Peabody for lunch and the program.

Guest speaker Dan Kaplan, editor and publisher of New England Home magazine, will speak on the latest trends in home fashion. He also will address the topic of Fine Design in a New Green World, as will a speaker from Robert Allen/Beacon Hill Fabrics.

The meeting will conclude with the presentation of the Arthur Adelizzi award, which is named after the late industry leader and recognizes individuals who make meaningful contributions to the industry while conducting their business and personal lives with honesty and integrity.

Information about the event or the New England chapter is available from Laurie Auman at (800) 888-9590, ext. 6169.
