A.R.T. opens East Coast warehouse
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 27, 2008
Ontario, Calif. — A.R.T. Furniture has opened a 50,000-square-foot warehouse in Hickory, N.C., to facilitate shipments to East Coast retailers.
The warehouse was opened in response to requests from retailers east of the Mississippi, said Bill Sibbick, vice president of sales.
He said the warehouse gives A.R.T. and its dealers added flexibility. The company also has a 150,000-square-foot warehouse in China and a 90,000-square-foot facility in Ontario, Calif.
The company also includes the option of mixing as many as five collections in one container from China, and allows retailers to check stock online and monitor their shipment status through FurnishWeb.
A.R.T. Furniture was established in 2003 and is a single-source importing arm of Chinese manufacturer Markor International.
