HIGH POINT - La-Z-Boy is expanding its casual contemporary offerings in a big way at the High Point Market with the launch of Urban Attitudes, an eclectic collection of sofas, sectionals and chairs designed for smaller living spaces.
The sophisticated collection includes five new stationary seating groups, three occasional chairs, a recliner and an ottoman that are available in more than 100 fabrics and an array of custom options such as nail head trim, contrasting welts and feather accent pillows.
"The clean simple lines and standout details fit the tastes of a more style-conscious demographic and their smaller urban living spaces," said Paula Hoyas, vice president of merchandising. "Urban Attitudes is our most significant collection launch in over 10 years and it makes a bold, contemporary statement for our brand."
She said the seating pieces utilize the company's premier construction materials, including padded frames that enhance design lines and premium ComfortCore cushions.
New seating groups are Beacon Hill, which features the classic look of a slipcover sofa; Bijou, which has a trendy bench seat design; Deco, a small-scale sofa with curved shelter arms and conical legs; Dolce, which features flared and delicately rounded arms; and Tribeca, a sectional with exaggerated flared arms and conical legs that's available in multiple configurations.
New occasional chairs are Avenue, a sleek, stylish accent chair; Cosmopolitan, a modern version of a classic wingback; and Hipster, an armless, low-profile accent chair with a wood base.
The only recliner in the collection is Midtown, which can correlate with any of the Urban Attitudes sofas.
Hoyas said the company also is including three existing sofas and five existing accent chairs in the new collection.
