TORONTO — Hudson's Bay Company, the owners and operators of Hudson's Bay, Home Outfitters and Lord & Taylor, has named current President Bonnie Brooks as its new vice chairman. Succeeding Brooks as president will be Liz Rodbell, the company's executive vice president and chief merchant.
Both will report to Richard Baker, HBC Governor, chairman and CEO.
In a statement, the company said the transition will begin immediately and will be completed by the end of the current fiscal year in January.
"This new structure will continue to drive our long term growth strategy, as we build upon the company's momentum toward revitalizing its banners and product offerings, and strengthening the customer experience," Baker said in the press release.
Brooks will act in an advisory role to Baker and HBC's board of directors, the company said. She will continue to have input into the business of Hudson's Bay and Lord & Taylor.
Rodbell joined HBC in February 2012 and was tasked with leading the integration of the Lord & Taylor and Hudson's Bay banners. She has been credited with successfully driving a repositioning of its group, officials said.
She joined Lord & Taylor in 1985 and moved up through management. She was the U.S. department store's executive vice president of merchandising from 2008 until joining parent company HBC in 2012.
