COSTA MESA, Calif. — Orange County interior designer Marc Pridmore has opened Marc Pridmore Designs, a luxury furniture, flooring, lighting and accessories showroom here.

The upscale retailer recently welcomed hundreds of consumers at a grand opening party in the new two-story, 42,000-square-foot space, one block from South Coast Plaza, known as a top retail center in the United States.

In a release, Pridmore described the store as "traditional, classic and timeless. It is not a dated look."

Suppliers include E.J. Victor, Hooker Furniture, Maitland-Smith, LaBarge, Howard Miller and Fine Art Lamps, along with a large inventory of custom flooring, lighting, rugs, drapery and original oil paintings.

The store offers complementary design services, Pridmore said.

Pridmore, 32, is an Alabama native who moved to Costa Mesa and built up a large and loyal clientele, the company said. While catering to affluent customers, the store is anything but stuffy, the company said, noting, for instance, a "Man Cave" room on the second floor, complete with bookcase, sofa, game table, pool table, shuffleboard table and a 400-year-old lioness rug priced at more than $14,000.

The store also features a "community room," a large conference room that Pridmore said he will offer to charities and arts organizations for meetings and luncheons at no charge.
