DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Peter Ormond has been named director of Canadian business for diverse products supplier Twin-Star International.
     Ormond will be based in Ontario and reports to Andrew Bandremer, senior vice president of Twin-Star.
     Most recently he was vice president of business development for Greenway Home Products, whose product line, like Twin- Star's, includes some furniture and electric fireplaces. Earlier, he was trade program development manager for Nabisco and director of customer marketing for Conagra Foods.
     Company officials said Ormond has 26 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development.
     He replaces former Canadian sales manager Wally Bak, who is no longer with the company.

MIAMI - Italian mattress brand Magniflex has hired industry veteran Billy Curtright as its U.S. national sales manager, a new position at the company.
     Curtright, who has worked in sales management and marketing in the industry for about 20 years, will oversee Magniflex's plans to expand it retail presence in North America.
     He most recently was director of sales for Human Touch, a furniture and specialty sleep products manufacturer. Previously, Curtright was account manager for Norway-based furniture manufacturer Ekornes and national sales manager for Standard Furniture.
     "Billy brings a wealth of retail experience to Magniflex, particularly with quality furniture retailers who have historically done well selling our brand," said Magniflex USA President Marco Magni. "He will play a crucial role in positioning Magniflex in the United States as the innovative mattress manufacturer synonymous with Italian craftsmanship and cultivate relationships with retailers who want to offer sophisticated consumers high-quality and distinctive sleep products."

APJL Consulting
WASHINGTON - Consulting and liquidation specialist APJL Consulting has promoted Dominic Marchiando to vice president of sales.
     APJL said the promotion will allow Marchiando, who had been national sales manager, to be more involved with the home furnishings retailers who are the firm's clients.
     A 34-year industry veteran, he has worked in management on the manufacturing side at companies including Stanley Furniture, Pilliod, Pennsylvania House and HDM, the parent company of Henredon, Drexel Heritage and Maitland-Smith. He also worked at Barclays Commerical (now CIT) and GE Capital Commercial Services.
     The firm said that with his extensive background in finance, Marchiando will be able to identify retailers' financial challenges and provide solutions to help them develop a plan and exit strategy.

NEW YORK - Home furnishings fabrics supplier Kravet has named Robert M. Duban as executive vice president of contract sales.
     Kravet will oversee all contract sales and marketing and new business development. He will focus on expanding market share for Kravet Contract, which sells to hotels and other businesses.
     He was most recently executive vice president of sales for Covington Fabric and Design. He was previously senior vice president of residential, commercial and contract sales for the Robert Allen Group and a territory manager for F. Schumacher & Co.
     "Robert is energetic and a dedicated team leader. He will add tremendous value to our organization and fit in very well with our company's culture," Kravet President Cary Kravet said in a press release.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Lynch Sales Co. has hired Daniel D. Webb as senior sales coordinator.
     Webb most recently was the regional manager of store development for Stickley, Audi & Co. in Pittsburgh. Previously, he was the owner of Mountain View Interiors, a high-end store in Greenburg, Pa., carrying lines including Stickley, Karges, Baker and Hancock & Moore, and also was national sales manager at Patusan Trading Co. in Blairsville, Pa.

NAPLES, Fla. - Deborah McQuilkin has joined the design team at upscale home furnishings retailer Clive Daniel Home here.
     McQuilkin has worked in furniture retail for more than 16 years. Most recently she was with Naples Leather & Fine Furnishings, helping clients with their design needs.
      "Deborah is energetic, upbeat, positive and very detailed oriented," said Bonnie Kern, Clive Daniel Home general manager. "Her knowledge of the many types of leather and various manufacturing processes will be of great benefit to our customers."
