Williams-Sonoma furniture unit leases N.C. building

415,000-square-foot facility was used by Collezione Europa

CLAREMONT, N.C. — The Sutter Street furniture manufacturing subsidiary of retailer Williams-Sonoma has leased a former 415,000-square-foot building here formerly used by Collezione Europa USA, the Charlotte Business Journal reported.

Sutter Street began making upholstery in a $22.5 million, 800,000-square-foot site two years ago in nearby Hickory. The Journal said the newly leased building could be used for distribution or manufacturing operations.

JER Partners of McLean, Va., and Fulcra Enterprises of Cornelius, N.C., bought the building in 2008 during a bankruptcy sale.
