WATERLOO, Ontario — Software and logistics solutions provider Descartes Systems Group has launched enhanced route management solutions with extensive location-based service capabilities.
The technology is applied across Descartes’ Delivery Management Suite of route management solutions. It includes new mapping capabilities that use expanded road data, historical traffic patterns, real-time traffic information and point-of-interest attributes.
The company said the software also has enhanced image quality and rendering speed, enhanced geocoding speed and accuracy, support for larger geographic areas and expanded route optimization attributes.
“Our customers’ needs for accurate location information, combined with the technological and content advances of LBS, are reshaping the future of routing solutions,” said Ken Wood, senior vice president, applications engineering. “We saw a tremendous opportunity to offer additional value to our customers with the advances in mapping technology and content that are rapidly coming to market.”
