Georgia student's design graces show guide cover

High Point — The International Textile Market Assn. has chosen a design by college student Amy Brodnax to be featured on the cover of the summer edition of the Showtime directory and magazine.
Brodnax, who is studying fabric design, is the first University of Georgia student to win the semi-annual cover design competition.
Her key-motif print was chosen from nine entries because it reflects upcoming trends, said ITMA Director Catherine Morsell. The 3 by 9-foot design features pigment on cotton fabric ground with hand-printed silk-screening.
"From what we have heard, the camouflage look and berry-family reds are on target," Morsell said of the winning design.
The semi-annual Showtime fabric fair will be held here June 1–4.
