WARMINSTER, PA. — Mealey’s Furniture & Mattress will open its newest and largest store here July 1.
The one-level, 84,000-square-foot showroom, located in the CenterPoint Shopping Center at Street and York Roads, will be more than 25% larger than other Mealey’s stores. The company operates three other full-line stores and an outlet in greater Philadelphia.
A new store-within-a-store concept will feature a wide selection of mattresses, focusing on a segment that has been growing by more than 25% per year, said Kevin Mealey, who, along with his brother Dan Mealey, runs the business acquired by a private equity firm last year.
“Comfort and health are very important to consumers, and our new mattress store- within-a-store is designed to make shopping and buying this important item as convenient as possible,” Kevin Mealey said.
In addition, the Warminster store will feature another store-within-a-store for children’s and teen furniture, as well as separate areas for leather, home office, recliners, casual and formal rooms, and dining furniture. Also planned is a “Marketplace” featuring one-of-a-kind imported home accents.
The company said the new store will have nearly double the capacity and options of its other three full-line stores, while continuing popular features such as a café and area for children with snacks, video games and other electronic entertainment.
The new store, part of Mealey’s planned expansion within the Delaware Valley region, will add approximately 50 to 60 new jobs.
As part of this opening, Mealey’s is partnering with the American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Chapter for its new Service to Military Families program. The program provides military members and their families with emergency communications as well as counseling and social services
Mealey’s will be contributing furnishings to the new Service to Military Families Center, located in Levittown, Pa. Customers coming to all main Mealey’s stores in July and August can donate supplies for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as to wounded servicemen and women recovering at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington.
Over the past few years, Mealey’s has donated more than $500,000 to nearly 100 nonprofit organizations throughout the region, the company said.
