White Plains, NY -- Co-sponsored by the New York International Gift Fair and GREENRetailer magazine, the new Eco Choice Awards are set to debut during the fair’s upcoming event in mid August.
Retailers will have “a decisive role” in selecting the winners of these new award, the NYIGF noted, by voting to decide the gift and home industries' best "green" products featured during the event in three categories: Most Innovative, Most Sensitive Use of Materials, and Most Sellable.
Judging will take place during the six-day fair, scheduled from Aug. 15-20, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.
Eligible “green” products for the award will be included in the fair’s “SustainAbility: design for a better world” display, an exhibit set to showcase more than 175 eco-friendly gift and home products created from recycled, recyclable, sustainable or indigenous materials. They have been selected for this special display based on their inventive, new, aesthetic and functional attributes. A complete list of participants will be available online after July 1 at http://www.nyigf.com/info/display.html.
All retailers who participate as judges will receive a free gift, courtesy of GREENRetailer magazine. Voting is open all of the days of the fair, and the winners will be announced at the end of the day Aug. 20.
The NYIGF is organized by George Little Management (GLM).
