NEW YORK — 7 W New York, established as a giftware showroom building, is drawing a collection of home textiles suppliers, particularly design-oriented firms looking beyond the big-box market.
During the New York Gift Week, Jan. 26 to Feb. 2, five companies with contiguous spaces will show as a textiles alliance.
DownTown Company produces down comforters and bed pillows, decorative bedding from Portugal and bath towels from Brazil. Emdee International offers Italian-made drapery panels, throws, area rugs and decorative pillows under the Casabella label as well as SocietyClassic Italian linens. Fino Lino has European woven jacquard bedding, luxury silk pillows and bedding as well as hand-embroidered table linens. French Market Collection offers linens inspired by 18th- and 19th-century French interior décor. Katha Diddel Home Collection produces handmade needlepoint pillows, rugs, totes and shoes.
In addition to the alliance, several other textiles companies are in 7W. They include Saro Trading Company, supplier of handmade lace and related products inspired by traditional and contemporary European lace designs; and Pablo Mekis Artisan Pillows: hand-embroidered decorative pillow covers from Chile’s lake region. The company will introduce a bedding linen line later in the year.
