Excelsior Designs making Vegas debut in Building C

By Jeff Linville -- Furniture Today, July 14, 2008

Contemporary case goods and leather upholstery source Excelsior Designs will make its Las Vegas debut this summer in a nearly 7,000-square-foot showroom in the World Market Center's new Building C.

Excelsior Designs officials said they're looking to strengthen the company's national brand presence by exhibiting in a high-visibility space, C-396, overlooking the building's atrium. The showroom will carry the Excelsior case goods line, the Casa Novalia Leather line and the company's licensed collection with designer Nicole Miller.

Bob Maricich, WMC president and CEO, called the company “a well-recognized style leader and its presence here will greatly enhance opportunities for designers to view premiere, upscale Italian contemporary goods.”

The WMC previously has said that it wants to enhance its offering of exhibitors at upper-medium and high-end price points. In addition to Excelsior, mattress maker Aireloom, casual dining specialist Canadel and home office/entertainment source Sligh will debut in Building C. They will join AICO, Lexington, Tempur-Pedic and Wesley Allen, which have shown in Las Vegas previously but will move to the new building this summer.

“Having a presence in Las Vegas is a pivotal point for us,” said Excelsior President Steven Kayne. “We've observed the growth of this market, and we feel this is an optimum time for western-based retailers and design professionals to experience our high-end contemporary offerings.”

The company says its summer introductions are “designed to appeal to the aesthetics of western contemporary lifestyles” with modern looks and finishes in its bedroom, dining room and living room assortment.

Miller will appear at the show, meeting with retailers and discussing her design inspirations in the space Monday and Tuesday, July 28-29. Excelsior's Miller line includes Italian-made case goods and domestically produced upholstery featuring silhouettes and textiles inspired by her couture line.
