Wisconsin manufacturer A.A. Laun Furniture sold as president retires

KIEL, Wis. — Jonathan Laun has retired as president of A.A. Laun Furniture Co. after a sale of the domestic maker of occasional tables, entertainment consoles and accents.

Land 1 Brands said it acquired the assets of the A.A. Laun in April and will continue to use the furniture maker's name.

Dan Gray is now the president of A.A. Laun Furniture. Gray is a former executive of Sheboygan, Wis.-based contract furniture manufacturer Mayline Group.

"The past several years have been very difficult for the furniture industry. That's why it was very important that A.A. Laun look to someone with Mr. Gray's track record of innovative product development and creative marketing to lead the effort," Laun, who has worked for the company more than four decades, said in a press release.

The release said Gray plans to expand distribution and develop new products that are competitively priced and have unique features and styles. He said he also plans to maintain A.A. Laun's reputation for quality workmanship, reduce delivery times, increase capacity and strengthen its operations.
