NEW YORK – Department store veteran Frank Guzzetta has been named president of Ralph Lauren Home Collection, a unit of Polo Ralph Lauren Corp., effective Aug. 11.
Guzzetta, who retired from Macy’s Inc. earlier this year, will report to Roger Farah, president and COO of Polo Ralph Lauren. Guzzetta, a 30-year retailing and management veteran, most recently was chairman and CEO of Macy’s North division. Prior to that, he spent two years as president and CEO of Marshall Field’s, when it was owned by the May Co.
Earlier, he was president and CEO of another May division, Hecht’s/Strawbridge’s.
Guzzetta succeeds Barbara Deichman, who retired in December. He will be based in Polo Ralph Lauren’s corporate office here.
He will assume responsibility for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Polo Ralph Lauren’s home collection business. He will oversee sales, licensing, marketing, product management, sourcing and manufacturing, working in conjunction with the design and development staffs.
“We are very happy to welcome Frank Guzzetta to Polo Ralph Lauren,” said Farah. “His broad-based business expertise and leadership skills will strengthen our management team. He brings a long successful track record in the home collection industry, and we look forward to his contribution to the growth and enhancement of this critical business.”
“I am delighted to join Polo Ralph Lauren at such an exciting time in the company’s history,” said Guzzetta. “I have always recognized Polo Ralph Lauren as a leader in the industry, and I look forward to contributing to the success of the home collection business.”
