Classic Sleep offers cool beds
Dormia features thermal-regulating option

AT THE MARKET — Classic Sleep Products says it has some cool new beds in its Dormia line. And President Michael Zippelli means that — literally.
The Jessup, Md.-based specialty sleep producer has added five thermal-regulating products to its high-end Dormia line. Consumers like to sleep cool, the company says.
“Steady growth numbers in the specialty sleep category and increased consumer demand for ‘green’ and ‘cool sleep’ products has led us to merge environmentally friendly with thermal regulation technology,” said Zippelli. “This collection aids in maintaining optimal body sleep temperature by cooling you down when you are warm and warming you up when you are cool.”
Classic, showing in World Market Center B-970, combines green and cool sleep in its appropriately named Cool Sleep Geo Latex Collection.
The proprietary Cool Sleep Cover has thermal regulating properties “at the molecular level” that can absorb excess body heat or retain body warmth based on the sleeper’s core body temperature, the company said.
The line uses Talalay latex that is harvested from the milk sap of rubber trees, Classic said. The latex is naturally hypo-allergenic, anti-microbial and resistant to dust mites, mold and mildew. It is combined with a hypo-allergenic organic New Zealand wool quilt-top layer that improves the breathability of the mattress, officials said.
The New Dawn, retailing at $1,399, and the Crystal Sky, retailing at $1,699, both consist of two latex layers, one for comfort and the other for orthopedic support. The Autumn Breeze, retailing at $1,999, features an additional latex comfort layer. The Fresh Meadow, retailing at $2,499, and the Sundance, retailing at $2,999, are pillow-top models. The Fresh Meadow has three latex comfort and support layers, while the Sundance has four latex comfort and support layers.
In addition, the line is made with two levels of base material, including high-density polyurethane foam, instead of using the traditional base block construction, the company said.
Also new at the Las Vegas Market from Classic is a budget-friendly memory foam line designed to give retailers models they can use to drive traffic. Classic is pairing compressible memory foam mattresses with hinged foundations in a new three-mattress line retailing from $699 to $1,599. Both the mattresses and foundations are compact enough to be shipped via UPS or FedEx, and, upon delivery, can be folded into place in minutes, according to the company.
The Classic, retailing at $699, offers an eight-inch profile, while the Ultra, retailing at $999, is a 10-inch high memory foam bed. The Celebration, retailing at $1,599, has three layers of memory foam and a 14-inch profile, the company said.
