Finger closes Houston-area store
Part of plan to replace older units

HOUSTON — Finger Furniture has closed its 150,000-square-foot store in the Greenspoint area of Houston, President and CEO Rodney Finger confirmed in an e-mail.
Earlier this year, the retailer closed its 65,000-square-foot store in Sharpstown Center, southwest of downtown, as part of an ongoing plan to close older stores and open updated units.
Finger opened a 93,000-square-foot store in the Willowbrook area of northwest Houston in October and has plans for another large store in Houston’s Woodlands area in mid-2009.
This year it has opened two area Ashley Furniture HomeStores and Finger said the company will convert its Humble, Texas, Finger store to a HomeStore soon. That’s also part of a larger plan to open eight to 10 HomeStores in the market.
It currently operates four Finger stores and four HomeStores.
