Thirty-two mills showing at Aug. Toronto Fabric Fair

TORONTO — Some 32 mills are expected to take part in the summer edition of the Toronto Fabric Fair at the Paradise Banquet & Convention Centre here Aug. 18-22.
The semiannual event, now in its fifth year, is sometime referred to as “Showtime North,” although it's not related to the Showtime fabric fair held in High Point.
Fred Hanes, who represents Lady Fabrics, said the Toronto show is operated by the sales representatives of textile companies active in Canada.
“It's not meant to conflict or compete with Showtime — it's intended as a complement to that show,” Hanes said. “The Toronto show has been most helpful for northern manufacturers who were unable to make the trip south. It's purely a service we want to provide to our customers.”
Mills taking part in the five-day event include: AAdvantage Fabrics; Gum Tree Fabrics; American Century Home; Homecraft; American Decorative Fabrics; King Textiles; Ametex; Lady Fabrics; Annabel; Portfolio Textiles; Bartson Fabrics; Regal Fabrics; Belle Maison Textiles; Robert Allen Home; Blumenthal Mills; Roth & Tompkins; Cone Decorative Fabrics; Shuford Mills; Conso; Sunbury Textiles; Culp; Stroup; Covington; TieTex; Dicey Fabrics; Treotex; Elite Textiles; Valdese; Glen Raven; Victor; Golding Fabrics; and Westgate.
Hours of operation will be: 1 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, Aug. 19-21; and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m Friday, Aug. 22.
The Paradise Banquet & Convention Centre is at 7601 Jane St. in Toronto.
