CR-Home to develop Southern Living line

Signs licensing agreement with shelter magazine

Larry Thomas -- Furniture Today, August 14, 2008

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — CR-Home, the residential furniture unit of Chromcraft Revington, has signed a licensing agreement with Southern Living magazine to develop an exclusive line of furniture under the Southern Living brand.

The licensed collection, named Southern Living by CR-Home, will debut at next April’s High Point Market and will include living room, dining room, bedroom and entertainment furniture.

Ron Butler, chairman and CEO of Chromcraft Revington, said the collection will highlight several lifestyle categories and reflect the type of iconic furnishings featured in the magazine.

“This news is an exciting addition to the acceptance we have had with our new Collections by CR-Home gallery concept,” said Butler. “Southern Living is an icon in the publishing industry with more than 16 million readers in all 50 states.”

Brenda Dillon, vice president of merchandising and product management for CR-Home, said the company will tap into the expertise of Southern Living’s editors as well as its readers to assist in developing whole home collections consistent with the brand.

“Our team is excited to be working with a company that has defined the look of casual, relaxed comfortable living,” Dillon said. “Southern Living represents a state of mind that is very appealing to our target consumers. I am convinced we will have a very exciting launch in April.”

Chromcraft Revington manufactures and imports furniture under the Chromcraft, Peters-Revington, Silver, Cochrane and Sumter brand names.
