Welcome to Furniture/Today's redesigned Web site!

Features more interactive environment

Jay McIntosh -- Furniture Today, August 15, 2008

From its homepage to an array of new features, the newly launched site offers readers a more interactive environment and richer content and advertisers a better marketing vehicle.

"The investment that our parent company, Reed Business Information, has made to enhance our already powerful Web site will pay dividends for our readers by allowing them to access even more news and information than ever before," said Ray Allegrezza, Furniture/Today's editor-in-chief.

"Since debuting the industry's first electronic daily news dispatch in 2000 with our e-Daily, we've constantly looked for better ways to give our audience enhanced content on demand, and our redesigned Web site marks another major step in that direction," Allegrezza said.

Furniture/Today's site currently attracts some 190,000 unique visitors each month, he added.

With the update, the site now offers a fresh look at news, features, images and video, along with access to the newspaper's extensive archives. Key features include:

+ Improved navigation. The homepage holds more new, interactive features and information. Links to related stories and Web sites allow readers to easily find topics of interest.

+ Enhanced search with Zibb technology. The search field is prominent on the homepage, allowing simple navigation and faster access to archives.

+ Cleaner design. Top stories, breaking news and features can be searched at a glance. More headlines are displayed on the homepage and stories are offered in several categories.

+ Updated industry news. Fresh, exclusive content is provided by our staff and reliable sources around the Web.

+ Blogs by several of our staffers and guest experts.

+ A TalkBack section that allows readers to easily join in online discussions.
