City Furniture vying for Boca Raton land

Entertainment company also wants Florida tract

Staff Staff -- Furniture Today, August 19, 2008

BOCA RATON, Fla. - City Furniture is vying for a 4.7-acre tract of land near the airport for a furniture store here, but is up against stiff competition from an entertainment company, according to a news report.

Keith Koenig, president of the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Top 100 company, wants to build a 98,000-square-foot store and has had his eye on the property for years, according to a report by South Florida Sun-Sentinel. City's plan, and a competing plan for a retail and multi-use entertainment complex, will be unveiled at an airport authority meeting this week.
