Goldberg Furniture to consolidate
Central New York chain will merge into one store

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Goldberg Furniture here will consolidate from four stores down to one superstore, according to a report by The (Syracuse) Post-Standard.The company cited the economy, rising fuel costs and intense competition as factors playing into its decision to close the central New York stores in Auburn, DeWitt and Oswego. It will keep its North Syracuse location open, but doesn't plan on expanding.
