Sponsored by High Point Market Authority
Staff Staff -- Furniture Today, August 26, 2008
HIGH POINT - The High Point Market Authority and the American Home Furnishings Alliance have teamed to offer two free Webinars designed to help companies create effect press materials for the fall High Point Market. The first Webinar, "Press Kits 101," will cover the basics such as what to include in a market press release, product photography advice and common mistakes to avoid. The hour-long session will be held at 2 p.m. EST on Aug. 26. Those interested in participating in the seminar can register by clicking here.
The second session, "Better Market Press Kits," is designed for more experienced marketing and PR teams. The Webinar is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST on Sept. 9. Interested parties can register by clicking here.
For both sessions, attendees will receive a telephone number to call to hear the audio portion of the seminars and a Web address for the Power Point presentation. Attendees will be able to e-mail questions for a question-and-answer session at the end.
"This Webinar is not about how to spend more money on your press kits. On the contrary, it's designed to help executives focus on the challenges of this particular home furnishings market - the largest in the world - and how today's journalists use press kits to make their job of covering the High Point Market more manageable," said presenter Pat Bowling, AHFA's vice president of communications, who has managed the High Point Market Media Center since 2000.
"Journalists are very candid in the Media Center about the press kits they find useful and those they consider a waste of money," she added. "If you're not sure into which camp they would place your company's press kit, you need to devote an hour of your time for this Webinar."
