Jump To Green Web site features Poly-Wood line

Products made from plastic recycled from post-consumer waste

Staff Staff -- Furniture Today, August 26, 2008

NEWTON, Mass. - Poly-Wood indoor and outdoor furnishings are now featured on eco-friendly online retailer Jump To Green's shopping site.

Poly-Wood plastic lumber is made from high-density polyethylene, or HDPE - plastic derived from post-consumer waste, including milk jugs and plastic packaging. The furnishings have been featured on ABC television's Rachel Ray daytime talk show and HGTV's Carter Can home renovation show.

According to B2B Tradeholding.com, Poly-Wood is an Italian-Egyptian, joint venture company founded in 2001, under the name of "International Recycling Technology - PolyWood," with its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

Poly-Wood contains less than 50% post-consumer recycled content, and the HDPE-only products with low, zero, or unknown post-consumer recycled content, according to a study by the Healthy Building Network.
