World Furniture Confederation appoints four execs to board

FRANKFURT, Germany — The World Furniture Confederation has named four furniture industry professionals as vice presidents on its board of directors.
Appointed at the group's general assembly meeting here July 4 were Andy Counts, CEO of the American Home Furnishings Alliance; Chang Huang Choi, president of the Korean Furniture Manufacturers Assn. and also president of the Confederation of Asia Pacific Furniture Assns.; Jia Qwen, president of the Chinese National Furniture Assn., a manufacturing association; and Valentin Zverev, president of Amedoro, the Russian furniture manufacturers association.
The World Furniture Confederation also named Mohsen Sellami as convener of the WFC Technical and Environment Committee. He is president of UTICA, the Tunisian Wood and Furniture Federation.
Formed in 2006, the World Furniture Confederation is made up of manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and other organizations around the world who want to address or learn more about issues relating to the global furniture business. The group typically meets for an event known as the World Furniture Congress. The third Congress, to be organized by Amedoro, will take place Nov. 10-11, 2009, in Moscow.
