Cotton partners with retailers to launch e-commerce
David Perry -- Furniture Today, November 6, 2003
New York — Cotton Inc. will launch consumer e-commerce website — TheJoyofShopping.com — in the first quarter of 2004.
The site will link consumers with retailers by product categories such as home furnishings, and subcategories within them. Cotton has a database of 25,000 skus available from retailers including Wal-Mart, Sears, Kmart, Linens 'n Things, Kohl's, Blue Fly and Eddie Bauer.
Consumers can specify price points, online retailer or specific item. There will be neither advertising on the site nor any pre-determined sponsor-driven listing of results. To purchase an item, consumers click the product and are linked to the appropriate retailers' sites.
