BECKER, Minn. — The owners of Becker Furniture World want to sell their 380,000-square-foot showroom and distribution center here and lease it back to raise capital to expand its new Home Center concept nationally, according to a local report. The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal said the Huseby family, which owns Becker Furniture World Home Center, would use the money as well as financing from a Wall Street investor to build a store in the southern suburbs of the Twin Cities as possibly as many as 50 stores across the country.
The Home Center had a grand opening last year as a home improvement destination. Becker partnered with other companies to offer goods ranging from furniture to kitchen appliances, cabinetry and counter tops.
